6.4.3. Emergency Response

Mines Rescue Station is fully manned and within 32 km of each mine. Rescue station equipped with Rescue Vehicle and equipment. A small rescue room is maintained at each mine. Training of site personnel and external mines rescue personnel follows the Mine Rescue Rule – 1985.

Typical mines rescue apparatus is maintained at the various rescue stations – Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) of 2 hour duration, ancillary equipment and gas testing apparatus.
